You’re rich

2 Corinthians 8:9

“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor so that you through his poverty might become rich.”

Are you rich? I’d guess most of us would say “no,” or would even laughingly say “no way!”

But guess what? God says you are! God says you’re rich!

But, it’s maybe not in the way that most people would think. God isn’t saying that you and I are rich monetarily. Rather, he’s saying that you and I are rich spiritually. When it comes to forgiveness? God pours it out on you richly. When it comes to God’s love? God gives it to you over and over again. When it comes to your eternal destiny? You’ll be entering the glories of heaven! When it comes to knowing that God is with you, to knowing that life has a purpose, to knowing that God has a plan for you and for all things, etc. – God has blessed you richly in regard to all of those things, and more!

May Jesus lead us to appreciate our “wealth!”

Thankful to be rich, just like you,

pastor
