You’re a work of art!

Jeremiah 1:5a

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,…”

Have you ever seen a person making pottery on a pottery wheel? It’s pretty amazing. As the wheel spins, the crafter applies just the right amount of pressure, forming the piece of pottery. If the person is good at it, the final product is amazing! A work of art! Unique!

The Hebrew word “formed” is the same word for “to shape like a potter.” God had “formed” Jeremiah; God has “formed” you. You are God’s unique work of art! He made you to be exactly who he wanted you to be, with exactly the right strengths/ weaknesses/ talents/ interests.

And what guided him? What guided him was your eternal salvation and the salvation of others! God made you who you are so that you would end up in heaven, and so that others would be helped on their eternal journey through you.

Thankful to be God’s work of art, just like you,
