You have everything you need!

Ecclesiastes 3:10

“But our citizenship is in heaven.”

A citizen has rights in the country in which they reside. Knowing that makes the passage above all the more breathtaking! Your real citizenship is in heaven! What “rights” does that give you? It means that you have the right to live forever, the right to be perfect, the right to see Jesus face to face, the right to have a glorious, glorified body, and more!

What “rights” no longer apply to you? No longer do you have the “right” to be mortal, to be stuck with sin, to have to deal with sickness and weakness. Those “rights” no longer apply to you! Not really!

Oh, it’s true that on this side of eternity we have to deal with all those earth-bound “rights” of ours. But remember that the real you isn’t a citizen of this world; your citizenship is in heaven! And we eagerly await Jesus to come back and bestow the full use of our citizenship rights to us!

Thankful to be a citizen of heaven, just like you,
