Train Them and Send Them || 175 years of WELS history
Lone congregations would find it difficult to train pastors, teachers, and staff ministers and to support mission work efforts around the country and the world. Walking in partnership and fellowship with other congregations, though, we can meet these opportunities. So, for the last 175 years, that is what congregations of WELS have been doing. But… How did we end up with our Synod schools in New Ulm, Watertown, Saginaw, and Mequon? Why have we been doing mission work among the Apache for over 125 years? When did our mission work begin in Central Africa? What about missions in the USA? What was the growth pattern of WELS? These presentations will summarize 175 years of WELS ministerial education and mission work.
