Our Thankful Response to God
God urges His people to grow in the Word of God! (1Peter 3:17-18) In fact, he wants us to grow so deeply that we are able to teach the Word to others. (Hebrews 5:11 - 6:3) Why does he urge us so strongly? It's because faith needs to be fed by the Word. If it's not fed, faith can die. (Matthew 13:3-23; 1 Corinthians 10:11) So it's imperative that a believer continues to hear, read - even study - the Bible.
We believe that prayer is a wonderful privilege given by God to His believers, by which God allows His believers to speak directly to Him. We believe that God always answers the prayer of the believer and that God will always answer in the way that’s best, even if that means saying “No” to the request made by the individual.(James 5:16; Psalm 50:15; Matthew 7:7-11; Romans 8:26; Isaiah 59:1-2; Romans 5:1-2)
We believe that the believer, motivated by God’s love for him, will want to say “thank you” to God. God guides that life of faith through His Word, particularly through the 10 Commandments. Love–for God and for our neighbor–is the fulfillment of God’s law. We believe that our life of faith earns us nothing at all; rather, it’s our way to say “thank you” to God for all He’s done for us. (Psalm 119:105; Romans 12:1; Matthew 22:36-38; Exodus 20; Luke 17:10; Isaiah 64:6)
We believe that each believer has at least one spiritual gift by which he or she gives service to God and to his or her fellow men. (Rom 12:3-8; 1Cor 12)
We believe that God wants His people to grow in their knowledge of the Word, and to spread the good news message of salvation to the ends of the earth. (Matthew 28:19-20)
We believe that every life is precious, from conception to grave, because life has been given by God, and because Jesus paid for each life when He died on the cross. (Jeremiah 1:5; Psalm 139:13-14)
We believe that marriage is a life-long union of one man and one woman. (Genesis 2:18-24; Matthew 19:2-9; Malachi 2:16)
