The James Project
God commands us to go, teach, baptize, and make disciples of all nations, (Matt. 28:19) but he also commands us to feed, cloth, welcome, care, visit (Matt. 25: 35) and love, even as he has loved us.(John 13: 34) But the apostle James puts it this way: Show me your faith without deeds and I will show you my faith by what I do. (James 2:18) Finally, Matt. 5: 16 tells us: Let your light shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
The James Project is to study, discuss, plan and implement ways that the members of Atonement Lutheran Church can show their love for the communities of Atonement (church, school, neighborhood) with the hope of sharing with them the love of Jesus. It is being discussed that Atonement should expand our ministry with the building of a Ministry Center. Click on the link below to be taken to the web-site's GALLERY to view the concept pictures.
Space would be provided from which would operate a "Lighthouse Youth Group". Lighthouse Youth Center provides the community with a central locations where youth can gather safely for recreational activities, receive assistance on their academic assignments, enjoy the positive influence of adult Christian mentors, and have opportunities to study and discuss the truths of Scripture. Survey of the congregation was taken during the Open Forum on January 20, 2019 to gather their thoughts and feelings of the direction Atonement's Ministry was headed. Click in link below to view the results.
