One Little Word: It Is Written

Matthew 4:10

NSLMDL 2014-15 tournament champion atonement Lutheran Whoo-hoo go dart ball team Tom Schultz is in the back going like this. What’s the point? You can’t see it very well, but those words are engraved into the metal here on the trophy It is written the Greek word graphal Gegratai is the Greek word for it stands written has the idea of carving something into stone Jesus used that word here in our text and fighting off the devil It stands written devil Worship the Lord your God and serve him only those words who are as solid and sure as if they were carved into stone it would be Pretty well impossible to erase these words to get rid of them in any way that I know how to do They’re carved in right and So are God’s words to you and to me When God says that you’re innocent you can take it to the bank because it’s carved into stone When God says your sins are forgiven when God says there is eternal life for you You can take it to the bank. It’s carved into stone by God himself When God promises that all things work together for your good that he is with you always to the very end of the age That he rules all things for the good of his church It is carved in stone Because when God says it That settles it And when God says to the devil and when you and I say to the devil it is written The devil is felt Amen
