Listen to your shepherd!

John 10:27-28

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.”

What’s your favorite podcast, YouTube channel, political pundit, or sports broadcaster? Who do you follow? Interestingly, there seems to be a podcast or YouTube channel on just about everything. Do you want a podcast about Roman history? It exists. One about the NBA? It’s there. A true crime series? It’s available. There are so many voices and opinions to listen to. The more we listen to these same voices, the more familiar we become with them. These people we follow almost feel like our close friends, though we’ve never met them.

How much do we hear and follow Jesus? After all, he is our greatest friend, he laid down his life for us! Yet, we’ve never met him either. But we can know him intimately. The more we hear and listen to His Word, the better we know him and his distinct voice. I must admit that I don’t always pay attention to his voice, though it calls out to me. I ignore it and go my own way. It never ends well. We are foolish when we don’t listen to the voice of our Savior. My friends, don’t jump out of your Savior’s hand, because he is trustworthy and true. He fulfilled the Scriptures and rose from the dead to confirm our Salvation, so let us eagerly follow and subscribe to Jesus. He is our life. Amen.
