It Happened on this day || Resurrection Sunday

Job 19:25-27

I know that my redeemer lives and that in the end he will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God;  I myself will see him with my own eyes—I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!

We are all familiar with pain and suffering. It is what we sinners deserve. We get sick and injured. Our bodies break down with age. We hurt and we struggle. Job was familiar with this. He of all people knew what it was to suffer. And yet, he says something amazing. Though his body may crumble to dust, he will still see God with his own two eyes! How could this be?

It was because Jesus, our redeemer and substitute really rose from the dead. He really did walk out of that tomb on Easter morning. Jesus’ resurrection is a reality. Even before it happened, Job knew it was good as done.

And because Jesus really rose, Job knew he would one day rise too! Jesus indeed lives! He conquered suffering and death. And because he lives, so does Job, and so will you, forever!
