Welcome to Atonement!
What it's like at Atonement:
At Atonement, you'll see people who are young and old, dressed up and dressed casually, and from various ethnic backgrounds.
A standard worship service at Atonement lasts about an hour. During that hour, you'll hear scripture readings and applications of those readings to your everyday life, sing hymns, and pray.
After worship, there's fellowship time to meet and chat with Atonement members and other visitors.
Following that fellowship time, we have a Bible study time where we dig deeper into specific topics. Sometimes it'll be a single lesson going deeper into a reading from worship that Sunday, others it will be a series of lessons going over a larger topic.
Membership at Atonement:
What does it mean to “join” a church? Most importantly, it’s a statement of what you believe. When you join a church, you’re saying that you believe that church is teaching God’s Word accurately. (John 8:31-32) That’s a strong statement, so you’d first want to thoroughly study what a church teaches before you join it.
Because it’s a confession of faith, joining a church also means that you’re uniting with a specific group of believers to worship God, to study the Word, to pray, to share Jesus with others, and to support God’s work.
Finally, joining a church also gives us the chance to serve. What that service will look like will be different for each person.

Our church body:
Atonement Lutheran Church is a member congregation of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), founded and based here in Milwaukee. Through the WELS, we join with congregations across the country and around the world to do the work we cannot do on our own. This work includes training future pastors, teachers, and staff ministers to lead our churches and schools and sending out home and world missionaries.
