Here’s what matters!

Philippians 2:5

“Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.”

The words translated “your attitude” might better be translated, “To think deeply.” In other words, God is urging us to think deeply, to mull on, to “chew on,” the truths about Jesus. 

What truths? As the segment goes on, it talks about how Jesus emptied himself, made himself nothing, humbled himself. Think about that! GOD … humbled himself. That’s amazing! 

And then the segment goes on. It talks about how Jesus is now exalted to the very highest place! That at the name of Jesus EVERY knee shall bow! Again, think about that! ALL things eventually do – and will – bow to Jesus. Your God … RULES ALL THINGS! That’s amazing! 

And as we think about those things, what happens? Why, we’re inspired to be humble, like Jesus, but inspired to be confident, for we are Jesus’ children! 

No wonder God wants us to mull over, to chew on, to think deeply about these things.
