He did it for YOU

Isaiah 65:17

“See, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind.”

God will make a new universe. That’s a big deal! Do we realize the magnitude of what that means? We know that God is making a new home for his children to live in, a place of peace and perfection, a world where sin no longer exists. So, how do we feel about this? Are we joyful about this? Do we look forward to the new heavens and earth? Or do we kinda forget about it?

If I’m being honest, I forget about this wonderful promise from our Lord sometimes. I get attached to this world, I get attached to “my stuff,” I get attached to things that ultimately are vanity, things that will perish. But thanks be to God that he has brought us to faith in his Son, and so we will not perish, but live forever. Brothers and sisters, let’s fix our eyes on the prize, let’s ask God to forgive our tunnel vision, and let’s ask that he maintain in us, the big objective picture. Let’s keep the Bible open so we can keep the promises of God at the forefront of our minds. God always keeps his promises.
