Happy new year!
Psalm 90:2
“Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.”
“Everlasting.” Can we even begin to understand that concept? I’m not sure that we can. We humans are so, so, so caught up in the reality of “time.” Perhaps the turn of the year reminds us of that yet again? “I can’t believe it’s the year 2025! I remember when we hit the year _______ .” We are oh-so-caught-up in time.
But your God isn’t. He’s “from everlasting and to everlasting.” And how long has God loved you? Crazily enough, he’s loved you from everlasting, and will love you to everlasting! (Read Ephesians 1 for more details.)
Knowing that God has loved me “from everlasting,” and will love me “to everlasting,” that allows you and me to enter into this really small slice of time called 2025 with confidence and joy.
In awe at God’s eternal love, just like you,
pastor
