God’s blessings… for you!

genesis 11:5

“But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building.”

How would we react if God came down to our home? Would we be excited to welcome him in? Or would we be embarrassed, even terrified, by what he’d see there? (Remember, God sees not only the outward appearance but everything, even those things which are “hidden” from others.) I think I’d feel terrified!

And the people at Babel should have been terrified, for God had come down for judgment!

But in amazing grace, God came down to this world to save us, when Jesus entered our world. What grace!

And God continues to come down to us. Every time we hear the Word, every time we partake of the Sacrament, God is coming down to us, individually, personally, with his saving love.

What grace, that God comes down to us!
