God is stronger!
Joshua 3:11
“See, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth will go into the Jordan ahead of you.”
“… the Lord of all the earth.” How easily we can read past those words! Joshua and the Israelites were about to get a strong reminder that God really was the Lord of all the earth. When the feet of the priests who were carrying the ark of the covenant touched the edge of the flooded Jordan River, the Lord of all the earth commanded those waters to stop flowing, commanded them to pile up in a heap a great distance to the north. The Lord of all the earth commanded; the earth had to obey.
The Lord of all the earth now goes with you, day by day. No, that doesn’t mean all things will necessarily be “happy” or joy-filled. But it does mean that God rules all things for your benefit, and for the benefit of all his people. Whether calamity comes or calm, the ruler of all the earth is the one in charge! And he’s ruling all the earth for you.
Thankful for God’s powerful rule, just like you,
pastor
