God can move stars!?

Matthew 2:9+10

“After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.”

Many think that the Wise Men followed the star all the way. What actually happened is, in my opinion, even more spectacular.

What happens is that God places that new star in the sky, for some reason alerting the Wise Men that the Savior had been born. They travel to Jerusalem and don’t find him, but they’re directed by the religious leaders and King Herod to go to Bethlehem. At that point, God puts the star back up in the sky. (That’s why they’re overjoyed! The star is back!) God then actually causes the star to move, so that it stands over the place where Jesus was.

Can you imagine? You have a God who can put a star into the sky, take it back out again, put it back in the sky, and make it move around. Wow! That power is breathtaking!

And that’s the power that God now uses for your benefit. So look to the stars! Be reminded that your God is all-powerful! Be confident and joyful on that account!

Thankful, just like you, that my God can make – and move – the stars,

pastor
