Followers of Jesus Obey God from the Heart || Sept. 1, 2024

Imagine a sister and brother who both do the same number of chores and follow the same rules. However, one child does what’s asked because they are afraid if they don’t, they will lose their allowance or get punished, while the other child does what’s asked because they realize that they are blessed by the structure their parents have given them and want to show appreciation to their parents. The same outward actions flowed out of very different motivations. Believers in Jesus want to follow Jesus. But why so? God wants us to follow him out of appreciation for what God has done for us! Knowing what God has done for us leads us to want to say “thank you” to God.
